In our former Report We presumed to suppose
that the Farms were greatly under lett, as our Predecessors
did on their [..] in 1754. They were of Opinion that
the Estate woud well bear an advance of Sixpence P
Acre, or Fine in Proportion and the Tenants unani
mously made their Option to advance the Six pence P
Acre. Accordingly the Annual Rent was raised to
£191..7..21 the Fines a mounted to £1518..9..4. and the
Colliery was let at £40 P Ann the Lease of the Colliery expired some Years & a New Lease was granted
at £60 P. Ann To a very good Tenant And if it is the
Opinion of the Grand Committe to confirm the present
Agreements entered into with the TenantsThe Rent
from Lady Day 1778 will be clear of Taxes & Repairs
£648..14 & from Lady Day 1779 £70 more for the
Common Land Farm proposed to be lett to your: Agent
Mr Chambers making together £718..14. The Cottages
£55..1..6. The Colliery £60.Mr Chambers having
delivered to us His Proposals for taking the Common
Land Farms. with a Plan & Estimate for a Farm House
that is absolutely necessary for this Land We beg leave
to submit the same to the Judgement of the Grand
Committee.There are no Copy hold Lands
held of the. Manor of Tibshelf, the Fritholders are few
and the Quit Rent are only £1..7..10 P. Ann the We
have great Reason to think that some Quit Rents have
been lost by neglect of former Stemards.

has used His utmost Diligenee for a course of Years
to preserve & support Your. Manerial & other Rights
on this Estates His Salary from the Hospital is
£6..-P. Ann a sum surely inadeguate both for the
Giner a Receives; but as was a forementioned He took
to Himself the Fines Rents and Americaments on
the Cottages, the Hospital also allowed Him to
