And upon reading the same It was moved
That it be recommended to the next General Court to
Appoint Dr . John Hadley< no role > the present Assistant Physician
to be one of the Stated Physicians to this Hospital with
the usual Salary. And the Question being thereupon
put, the same was agreed to.

of a Surgeon in the room of Mr. Joseph Paul< no role > , who
had Resigned

Order'd That the Thanks of this Court
be given to the said Mr. Joseph Paul for his faithfull
Services to this Hospital as one of the Surgeons.

The Petitions of Messrs. Joseph Eles< no role > , James
Frank
< no role > , Henry Hadley< no role > , John Hale< no role > , John James< no role > ,Williams
Lucas
< no role > This name instance is in set 4191. , George Martin< no role > , and Thomas Smith< no role > , were severally
Read, Praying to be Elected one of the Surgeons to this
Hospital in the room of the said Mr. Joseph PaulAnd
Mr. Treasurer Acquainting the Court that he had Authority
from the said Messrs: Else, Frank, Hadley, Hall, James, Lucas
and martin , to move that they might be at Liberty to with
draw their Petitions, being unwilling to trouble the Court
with Ballotting for them this time, in hopes of their Favour
on a future occasion, their Petitions were withdrawn
accordingly. And Mr. Thomas Smith being then the only
Petitioner, He was unanimously chosen to the said, Place,
To Hold the same with the usual Salary thereto belonging
during the pleasure of thisCourt. And he was
called in and acquainted with his Election.
