Steward & Matron
to Visit the Wards


30. Item That the Steward shall daily especially in the Even-
ings Visit the Mens Wards, And the Matron the Womens
Wards, to see that the Order of the House be duly observed

Governors to enquire
of the Patients before
they are Discharged
whether they have
been well used


31. Item That the Governors Appointed to take in Patients, every
Thursday before a Discharge be made do enquire of the patients
whether they have been well used by the Sisters, and Nurses, and
have had their Provision and Physick regularly given, & the
Linen so often Wash'd as they Pay for.

Surgeon to keep
a Person always
at the Hospital


32. Item That the Surgeon whose Week it is to take in do keep a
fit Person at the Hospital Night and Day to be Ready in case
of any Accidents

Patients Dinner at
One o'Clock


33. Item That the time of Patients Dining be at One o'Clock

Names of Sisters
changed to Nurses
and Nurses to Helpers


34. Item That the Names of Sisters be charged to Nurses and
Nurses to Helpers

Governors Takers in
10 View the House
once in four Months


35. Item That once in four Months the Governors Takers in
be desired to View the House by going through every ward
with the Doctors and Surgeons, to acquaint themselves
with the Behaviour of the Servants and Circumstances
of the Patients, to discharge such as shall be thought not
fit to be continued.

Beer-Money
to be Discontinued


36. Item That the Allowance of five pence a Week for Beer,
to the Matron, Butler, look and Porters, by an Order of
the General Court held the 16th. of Decemr. 1709 be Discon-
tinued they being now Supply'd with Beer sufficient from
the house Brewer.

the Cause in Dr.
Commons between
the Hospll & parish


And Lastly We Report that on the 31st Day of
January last. The Cause depending between this Hospital
and William Treherne< no role > and Robert Core< no role > elected Church Wardens
of St. Thomas's Parish mention'd in our Report to the last annuals
General Court came on to be heard before the Worshipful Edward
Simpson
< no role > Doctor of Laws Surrogate to the Commissary of Surry
And an Allegation which had been settled and approved of by
Counsel, pleading the Exemption of the said Church pursuant to
the Charter of King Edward the Sixth and insisting of That the
Same extended to the Office of Church Warden was opposed by
Counsel on the Behalf of the said William Treherne and
Robert Core and defended by Dr. Paul his Majesties Advocate
General and Dr. Hay as Counsel for this Hospital And
