Redemption whereof hath been lately Purchased of the said Norgate by the
Hospital And the said Principal and Interest Amounting together to One
Hundred Eighty One Pounds hath been paid accordingly by Mr. Treasurer.

We have Agreed with Thomas Holder< no role > Esqr . our Tennant of the Demesne
Lands of our mannor of Burdlines in Cumberton in the County of Cambridge
to Grant him a New Lease of the said Demesnes for One and Twenty years
from Michas 1723. At the yearly Rent of Sixty Pounds Tax Free For a Fine
of Two hundred Pounds which he has paid down And he has paid by
Agreement One hundred Thirty One pounds for the Rent of the premisses
from Michas 1721. (at which time his Old Lease expired) to Michas 1723.
aforesaid Clear of Taxes and of all other Demands for Repaires or otherwise
within that time And he is to Lay out Sixty Pounds in the Rebuilding
the West end of the Great Barne within the First Seven Years of the said
Terme We have lately caused a Survey and plan to be taken and made
of the said Demesnes which Differs considerably from some of the Antient
Views and Terrrars For which reason We think it may be proper to have a
New Admeasurement taken And the said Mr. Holder has Agreed to give his
utmost help and Assistance in the taking thereof

We have Agreed with John Thomas< no role > to Grant him a Lease of a House in the
Burrough of Southwark near the New Entrance into this Hospital now in his
possession being One of the Houses lately Held by Mr. Robert Roane< no role > for One and
Twenty Years from Lady Day 1724. At the yearly Rent of Forty Pounds Tax
free He is to put it into sufficient Repaire at his own Charge and so keep it
during the Terme There is to be a Proviso in the Lease for making it Void if the
said House shall be Lett to or used for any other Trade than what he now uses
being the Trade of a Leather Seller without leave from the Governors and an
Exception of the Door way and Passage under part of the Front of the said
House into the Vaults under the Wards on the North Side of the First Court
of the said Hospital.

We have Agreed with Thomas Abbin< no role > our Tennant of Clay Tye Farme in
Essex That he shall hold the said Farme from Michas 1723. (at which time his
Lease expired) for One year At the Rent of One hundred Pounds Payable Halfe
Yearly free from Taxes And he is also to pay the Fee Farme Rent and Quitt Rent
Issuing out of the said Farme.

Our Worthy Benefactor Thomas Guy< no role > Esqr . has at his own Charge caused
a New Entrance or Passage to be made out of the High Street in the Burrough
of Southwark into the First Court of this Hospital with Iron Gates to the same
And hath caused the Old Stone Front (which before Stood next the Street) to
be Sett up in the Front of the Buildings which Run cross the said Court over
against the said New Entrance or Passage And hath also caused Two new Brick
Houses to be Built next the said High Street One on each side of the said
Entrance or passage Which said New Passage and Two New Houses are made
and Built upon the Tofts or Ground of the Old Gateway at the South west Corner
of the said first Court And of Three Houses late in Lease to Mr. Henry Barttellott< no role >
and One House late in Lease to Mr. John Amy< no role > .

We have Agreed to Lett One of the said Two New Houses being that which
lyes on the South Side of the said New Entrance or Passage to George Thawyer< no role >
Linnen Draper from Lady Day 1724. untill Six Months Notice shall be given
on either Side for Quitting the same At the Rent of a Pepper Corn for the First
Quarter and the yearly Rent of Seventy five Pounds afterwards Tax Free
payable Quarterly The Lower Sashes of the Back Front next the Hospital
are
