No New Leases to be
Granted to any pson
of any House lyeing
between the Maze pun
& Ward the Bakers
House


And Wee alsoe certifye That upon proposalls made
to us by Capt: Amory for laying open or makeing a new way for
Carts and other Carriages out of St: Thomas's Street to the way
near the Maze pond leading into Snowes Feilds Wee have viewed
the Houses and Ground lying between that part of St. Thomas's
Street where Mr: Joseph Ward< no role > the Baker inhabitts ordwells and
the said way leading to snowes Feilds and Fined that the same are
all held by Leases from this Hospitall severall whereof are near
expireing And wee are of Opinion That it will very much tend to the
Improvement of the Rents belonging to this Hospitall lying within
the said parrish of St. Thomas to have such new way made as aforesaid
And the said Mr: Wards house lying most conveniently for makeing
and Entrance or beginning to such new way and he haveing a Lease
thereof for about Nine years to come which herefused to surrender or
part with we humbly recomend it to this Court as our Opinion That
noe new Leases should be Granted to the said Ward or any other
person of or for his said House or any other of the Houses or Grounds
lying between his House and the Wage pond [..] aforesaid that
may in any wise obstunt the makeing of the said new way when
the said Wards Lease expires or can be bought in.

And further wee are of opinion that the severall
Gentlemen herein after named are fitt persons to be Governours of
this Hospitall and have sent them Green staffs accordingly (vizt)

And Wee have agreed with John Terry< no role > of
the parish of St. Olave in Southwarke Tobacconist to Grant him
a Lease of a Tenement in the parish of St: Thomas within the
Close of this Hospitall now or late in Mrs: Marshalls possion
For Twenty years and One Quarter of a year comenceing from
Lady Day Anno Dom 1701: under the yearly Kent of 44s:
payable Quarterly and For a Fine of Thirty pounds to be paid
within a Month after the time of makeing the said Agreement
