Wednesday February 19th: 1745

The Minutes of the last Grand Commee
held the 11th: inst: were read & confirmed

Mr. Trearer read to the Commee an anonymous
Letter which he reced yesterday by the Penny
Post in the words follg.

You Lessingham this is to Inform you
Unless you for bear taking in to your Hospital
the Kings Men you & all the Governors must
Expect never to go from home unrewarded for
such Villany Never was known as to let poor Objects
of Charity that have Wives & Familys be turn'd
from the Place for the Kings Groat a day those
good Benefactors never left Charity to be made
a trade to support such Fellows & you to ride in
your Coach & that Fellow Welch ye Steward the
broken Linnen Draper & all your Mobb about
the place Pray let this be read at your Bar your
Trading Bart I mean that all the Servants of the
House may know the danger they Labour under
for you shall not go to Clapham unrewarded and
by God we will fire your Houses both you & the
Governors if you take in another Kings Man
besides Shooting you for here Fellowes come that
are Sailors, they stay five or Six Months & nothing
is the matter but for to keep them from being
press'd & to get Incurable Tickets, Now God.

Damn you at your Peril take in one more or
Advertize it but turn the thing to the Intent
