Mr: Hand of ibshelfe
pretends to be a purchase:}

Mr. Trear informed the Committee that Mrs. Mary Glad< no role > [..]
lately deced, Tenant of one of our Farmes in Tibshelf [..]
in Derbyshire had by her Will, given the Lease of the [..]
Farme and all her Interest therein to this Hospitall.
That she was to pay £230:5s: Fine for a Lease of 21: ye [..]
from Michas 1714: and £21:7s:2d P annum Rent The [..]
she had paid one halfe of the said Fine being £115:2s:6d:
which by vertue of her Will, will be a Devise of somm [..]
for the benefitt of this Hospitall if the said Devise [..]
Effect. But one Mr Hand of Tibshelfe aforesaid [..]
undertenant, pretends, That after the makeing of the [..]
and before her Death, He contracted with her for the purch [..]
of the said Lease, And made an Absolute Agreement for [..]
And insists upon his Right. In which Case the Money to [..]
paid by Hand, more than the Remainder of the Fine due to
the Hospitall would goe to her Executor Mr. James. But [..]
Mr. Trear had Reasons to think That Hands contract, which [..]
was only by Parole, Could not be maintained.

The said Mr. James, the Executor of Mrs. Gladwin, And [..]
Sr. Talbott Clarke< no role > her Son in Law. attended this Committee
and desired to Treat for a new Lease of the said Farme
if Mr. Hands Agreement should not be valid.

And the Clerke informing this Committee That Sr. George
Ludlam
< no role > Chamberlaine of the City of London , And one Mr. Chappel
of Manfeild Woodhouse in Nottinghamshire desired Also to Tre [..]
for a Lease of the said Farme when the Hospitall shall think [..]
fitt to Appoint.

It is upon the whole Matter, Ordered, That the Clerke
of this Hospitall write to the said Mr. Hand to know ye Pticular
of this pretended Agreement, and what Evidence there is of
it; And if he has any writing from Mrs. Gladwin relateing
thereto And what Consideracon he has paid or was to pay to
her; And upon his Answer this matter is to be further Consid
ered And Sr. Talbot Clarke promised to make what Inquiry
he could in the Countrey relateing to this pretended Contract,
which he believes to be of no manner of validity; And to send [..]
an Account of what he can learne about the Same to the Clarke.

A Proposall being made out the behalfe of Mr. Joules of
Gosport for a Lease to be granted to him in Revercon after
the Death of OneSparrow (now at Sea) of Four old [..]
