Grand Comittee Ven: 12 o: Nov: 1708:

Minutes of last Grand Comittee Read & Approved.

Ordered that a Green Staffe be sent to Mr.
Peter Gery< no role > , who is thought a fitt pson to be a Governor : if this Hospll:
Mr. Trear accquainted the Comittee that the
Tille of Clay Tye Farme in Essex (which is
intended to be Purchased with part of Sr: Robt:
Claytons Legacy) had been Perused by Mr:
Webb and was Approved by him, Whereupon
tis Ordered that Mr: Trear should proceed to
gett the Conveyances Settled.

And he also informed the Comittee that
the Cause in Chancery relating to Mr: Rands
Estate had been Heard, and the Will was fully
Proved and all the Charityes, Decreed to be
performed, and the Execur: Accomply are
Referred to a Matter in Chancery.

This Comittee taking Notice, that great Objeccons
have been made amongst the Governors:, against
the Custome, whereby such as are Dignified
are required to Contribute [..] a Double
Share to the Charge of Dinners [..] at Genrll:
Courts, when they are Chosen Stewards. And
it being the Usage in the other Hospll: for the
Stewards to beare the Charge of such dinners
whether dignified or not, in equall proporcons
If is thereupon Ordered that for the future
Eight Governors: be appointed Stewards for
the Providing such Dinners, and that there
be [..] us Difference made in their proporcons
of the Charge, unlesse any of them shall
freely & voluntarily offer the same.

Mr: Trear accquainted this Comittee that
his House is Charged to the Window Lighly, and,
that he is also Charged to the Poors Rate, of
