Doctor and Surgeons declareing that they were in noe sort privy to
this Application or to the Receipt of the said Money, Savening only
that Mr: Rydoubt sayes that about 7. or 8. years agoe he knew
some applicacons made but not succeeding he thought all further
applicacons were laid aside

Upon due Consideracon & Debate whereof And upon Reading the
Orders of this House and a Coppy of the Warrt: for the first
paymt: of the said Money This Committee is of Opinion That
Doctr: Torlesse & Mr: Elton have acted unwarrantably in Soliciting
ford receiving of the said Money and contrary to the Rules and practice
of this House and in breach of the Duty of their places And it is
therefore Ordered That Doctr: Torlesse & Mr: Elton be suspended
from their Officers and the profitts thereof till this Matter shall
be further Considered by this Comittee

Orders Agreed upon at this Comittee concerning the
SurgeonsCubbsYoung Men or Covenant Servt:

Orders for Cubbs:


1:

That neo Surgeon have more then 3. at one time nor take any
for lesse them one year

2:


That none be taken in but such as have Served Five years or upwards
with a Surgeon or some person practiceing in Physick & Surgery.

3:


And that before any [..] be taken he shall be prsented & approved
by the Comittee and shall produce and leave with the Comittee or
Trear a Testimoniall from some persons of Creditt & Reputacon
Inhabiteing in the Towne or place from whence he comes, Of his
haveing served for Five years as aforesaid and that he is of so ber Life
and Conversacon

And in Case any Surgeon of this Hospll: shall take any Young ManCubb
contrary to these Orders Except by speciall Lycence from the Comittee or
Trear He shall forfeit the sume of £20: for the use of the poor.
in this Hospll: to be deducted out of his Sallary, And shall alsoe
manrr the Displeasure of the Governors:
