Severall of the Govrs. present at this Court made Liberall Subscripcons
towards the support of this Hospll: and move particularly on Acct.
of the Necessary Charge in Altering and raising the Roofes
of the Wards in the Two Lower Courts.

Then the Peticons of Thomas Andrewes< no role > Augustus
Bryan
< no role > Joseph Casberd< no role > William Kirk< no role > and Hen: Shute< no role > Clerkes
were presented to this Court & Read Severally praying to be
Elected by this Court to Succeed the Reverend Mr. Mathew
Mead
< no role > Decd. as Minister or Chaplaine of the parish Church
of St: Thos in Southwarke which is vested by Royall Grant
in the Governours of the sd. Hospll. in the Nature of a
Free Chappell Whereupon it was resolved that the
sd. Candidates should be reduced to Two by Holding up
of Hands And then the Eleccon of One of them Determin'd
by Balotting Which Method being accordingly Observed The
Reduccon fell upon Mr. Casberd and Mr. Shute And Mr. Casberd
was afterwards duly Elected & Chosen to the sd. Office or place
of Minister or Chaptaine of the sd. Church To hold the same
with the Pension or Hipend usually paid by this Hospitall
and all Fees & Perquisites thereunto belonging During the
pleasureofand good liking of this Court.

Generall Court. Mercer: 1o. May 1717:

The Orders and proceedings of the last Generall Court Read
Approved and Confirmed

The Report from the Grand Comittee of their Proceedings since
the last Generall Court was Read as followeth vizt.

To the Rt. Worpll. Etc (put Report)

Which Report was well liked and approved of by this Court Audit is
Ordered That the Gratuity of £10. thereby recommended to be given
to our present Steward Mr. Hulton for his Extraordinary Diligence
and pains in the Service of this Hospitall be paid him by
Mr. Treasurer And his further Ordered That the said Report be
Entred in the Reportory of the Proceedings of this Court.

A Mocon being made for this Court to proceed to the Choice of an
Hospitler in the Room of Mr Richard Mayo< no role > lately Deceas'd A Debate
arose concerning the Duty of the Hospitler on Sundays Which
having been well Considered of It was Agreed & Ordered by this
