The Order of John Floud< no role > and William Brodie< no role >
Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County on whereof is
of the Quorum, and both residing next unto the Limits
of the Parish Church within the Parish of Saint Matthew
Bethnal Green in the said County of Middlesex
made the First Day of November in the
Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
Ninety Nine
concerning a Male
Bastard Child, lately born in the Parish of Saint
Matthew Bethnal Green aforesaid, of the Body of
Ann Stanton< no role > Single Woman .

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint
of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Matthew
Bethnal Green as upon the Oath of the said Ann Stanton< no role >
that the said [..] on the sixth day of Sep [..] in the Year of our Lord one thousand Day of seven
hundred and ninety seven [..] last past, [..] is delivered [..] Bastard Child, at a House in
Austin Street in the said Parish of Saint Matthew Bethnal Green in the said
County and that the said Male Bastard Child islikely to bechargeable
to the said Parish and further, that John Shaw< no role > , of New Sum Yard in the
Parish of Saint of Leonard Shoredith in the said County Weaver did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Ann Santon< no role > and Whereas
the said John Shaw< no role > hath been duly Summoned Personally to be and appear before us to shew Cause
why he should not be adjourned the reputed Father of the said Male Bastard Child but the said John
shaw
< no role > hath not Shewn any sufficient Cause, why he shall not be the reputed Father of the said Male Bastard
We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as
well upon the Oath of the said Ann Stanton< no role > as otherwise, do hereof
adjudge him the said John Shew< no role > to be the reputed Father of the
said Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do Order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of Saint Matthew
Bethnal Green as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that
the said, John Shaw< no role > Shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause it to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint Matthew Bethnal Green or to some or one of them, the Sum of Thirty Shillings
for and towards the Lying-in of the said Ann Santon< no role > and the Main
tenance of the said Bastard Child, to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further order, that the said John Shaw< no role > shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Shillings and Six Pence Weekly and every Week from the Present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish

And we do further order, that the said Ann Stanton< no role > shall also pay
or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Six Pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Parish in case she ahall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.
