AT the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord
the King, holden in and for the County of Middlesex , at the Session-
House for the said County, () on Monday
the Second Day of July in the Thirty eight
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, King of
Great Britain, Etc. Before William Mainwaring< no role > , William
Bleamire< no role > Rupert Clarke< no role > , Hammond Crosse< no role >

Esquires , and other Fellows, Justices of our Said Lord the King,
assigned to keep the Peace in County aforesaid; and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies, Trespasses and other Misdemeanours com-
mitted in the same County,

Whereas John Frears< no role > of the parish of Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster
in the County of Middlesex pawnbroker Hath at this present Session Exhibited his Petition
and Appeal setting forth That in consequence of a Summons issued under the Hand and Seal
of Cranley Thomas Kerby Esqr. one of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County and
served on the Petitioner: He appeared before the Magistrates at the public Office in Queen
Square upon an Information Exhibited and prosecuted by James Stallwood< no role > charging that the
petitioner did in the parish of Saint James in the said County on the Eleventh day of
April last take and receive of and from one George Winton< no role > on redeeming the pledge therein
and after mentioned the Sum of one penny by way of profit upon Two shillings and nine pence
on the Tenth day of April last rent upon a Pledge of Two Aprons and One Hand Kerchief
contrary to the Statute Etc. and that He was upon the hearing of the said Information
Convicted in the penalty of Five Pounds by Patrick Colquhoun< no role > Esqr . whereby the petitioner
conceived himself aggrieved. Now the said appeal coming on to be heard and the said
Patrick Colquhoun< no role > Esqr : being solemnly called to come forth and support the said Conviction
but not appearing nor any person on his behalf and Proof being made upon Oath that a true
Copy of the Petition and Order of Court thereon for the hearing and determining the said Appeal
at this present Session had been delivered to and left with Arthur Gliddon< no role > Esqr : Clerk to the said
Patrick Colquhoun< no role > and the other Magistrates acting at the Public Office in Queen Square
Westminster It is Ordered that the said Conviction be and the same is hereby Quashed
