said but the Respondent with a Knotted stick he had under his Arm began
beating him over the Face and divers parts of his Body and bruised him
so very much that his Body was very Bloody-and was proceedg on to further
violence when the Boy made his Escape and went home to his Father and
upon his stripping off his Cloaths his Father Finding him in the Situation
before described Obtained a warrant agt. the Respondent and he was taken
before Justice Bond the next day-The Boy was stripped before him the
Respondent was then very Drunk and he was sent to Covent Garden Watch
House till he got sober this was in the Morning and in the Evening the
Complaint was heard when Mr. Bond ordered the Respondent to find Bail to
answer the Complaint at the Sessions and directed the Father to take the
Boy home to his own house and to Petition the Court for his Discharge

who is the Father of the Appellt. That the Witness has
frequently had reason to Complain to the Respondt.

the Justices on Accor. thereof for redress and that
afterwd. matters has been made up & to prove the
Situation the Boy was in by the Beating Etc Etc}

shop in Union Street will prove that the Responds.
at the time worked with him sometimes did not come
to the Shop for 4 days together that he was contineously
Drunk and often left the Appellt. without Victuals
and that he did not attend to Track him any part of his Trade}
