Sheweth
That by Indentures of Apprenticeship
bearing date the 9th. day of August 1793. Your
Petitioner was found Apprentice for Seven years
to
John Stephens< no role >
of Streatham Street
in the
Parish of Saint George Bloomsbury
in the County
of Middlesex
Plater and Founder
and in Consideration
of £20. paid to him by your Petitioners Rather
he Covenanted to reach and Instruct your Petitioner
in the set of a Plater and Founder which he
followed as by the said Indenture will appear,
That the said John Stephens< no role >
hath
divers times behaved towards your Petitioner with
great bruetly by Violently Assaulting and Beating
him without any just Cause and otherwise Ill
treated him by refusing and Neglecting to
find and provide him with necessary food and
by Neglecting to Reach him his Trade
That the said John Stephens< no role >
having
on the 20th. day of June Instant Violently and
Maliciously Assaulted Beat and Bruised your
Petitioner in and upon his head Neck Shoulders
and divers parts of his Body with a Stick without
any Cause or Provocation whatsoever on your
Petitioners
