Middlesex


At the General Session of the peace of our Lord
the King holden in and for the County of Middlesex
at the Session House for the said County (by
adjournment) on Thursday the Seventeenth day of
September in the Thirty fifth year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great
Britain Etc.

Whereas William Procter< no role > Son of Christopher Procter< no role > of Richmonds
in the County of Surry Fruiterer Hath at this present Session Exhibited his
petition and appeal setting forth That by the consent of his Father he
put himself apprentices to William Hall< no role > of Chelsea in the County of Middlesex
Carpenter and Joiner by virtue of an Indenture bearing date the 25th. day of
July 1791 in consideration of the Sum of Thirty Pounds for the Term of Seven
Years as by the said Indenture would more fully appear: That the Petitioner
duly and faithfully served his said Master according to the Tenor or Covenant
contained in said Indenture from the said twenty fifth day of July One Thousand
Seven hundred and ninety one for and driving and until the beginning of the
Month of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and ninety five being upwards
of Four Years. That on or about the beginning of the said Month of my 1795
the said William Hall< no role > for some cause absconded from his dwelling House and
Family and left the petitioner destitute of all support or employment and
some time afterwards his wife and Family left his House at Chelsea aforesaid
and did not leave the Petitioner a Bed to lie on nor any manner of
necessaries for his support which compelled him to go to his said Fathers
House where he had resided ever since. That the Petitioner had made the
most diligent search and enquiries after his said Master amongst the
Masters of the said Trade in general and amongst those resident at Chelsea
and his Friends and acquaintance in particular but though he had continued
such search and enquiry for these Six Months past as aforesaid yet he had not
been able to learn or gain any intelligence whatsoever except that he had been
informed that his said Master was gone to America and his wife who was
gone to service gives out to that effects That in consequence of the petitioners
being out of Employment and being informed that he could have relief by
Summons before any of His Majestys Justices for the said County he took
