The Examination of Robert Banks< no role > of Phoenix Street
in the Parish of Christ Church in the said County
Victualler and Mary Peters< no role > of the same Place Widow
taken on Oath ye. 24th. day of August 1795 before
me one of It is Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
for the said County of Middlesex .

The said Robert Banks< no role > Saith That on Saturday last
learning that a Private Lottery was set up in a
House Occupied by a Mrs. Train next Door to
where he lives, He went there in the evening of the
23d. Instant and Insured No. 48 and Paid ten pence
to receive a guinea if it came up that Night
either a blank or Prize The Prisoner Elizabeth
Dennis
< no role > took the Money, and put it down in a Book
but gave no Ticket, this Transaction took place at Eight
in the Evening. And this Examinant further saith
that he went in afterwards with Beer to the same
House two or three times, by which means this
Examinant learnt the Lotttery would begin drawing
at 10 o Clock. This Examinant accordingly went
about ten o Clock, and he was Present for some short
time while it was drawing. This Examinant went
out and returned soon after and then the Officers
came in and seized the Wheels and all the Parties.

The said Mary Peters< no role > saith That she went on
Saturday last merely out of Curosity to see the said
Lottery drawn, The Prisoner shaked the Lottery
Wheels occasionally and Assisted, this Examinant
was not there ten minutes before the Officers came.
