MIDDLESEX .


AT the GeneralSession of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the
County of Middlesex , at the Session-House for the said
County,() on Monday
the First Day of December
in the Thirty fifth Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the Third, King of Great
Britain, Etc. Before William Mainwaring< no role >
William Bleamire< no role > , Hammond Crosse< no role > , John Hole< no role >
Esquire , and others their Fellows, Justices of our said
Lord the King, assigned to keep the Peace in the County
aforesaid; and also to hear and determine divers
Felonies, Trespasses, and other Misdemeanours com-
mitted in the same County.

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Luke
Chelsea in the said County Have at this Present Session Exhibited their Petition
and Appeal Setting forth That by virtue of a Pass Warrant or order under the hands
and Seals of H. J. Pye and J Warner Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
acting in and for the County aforesaid one hereof being of the Quorum bearing date the
Twenty Ninth day of October last past Elizabeth Codd< no role > Wife of Emery Codd< no role > a Soldier in
the 80th. Regiment of foot then abroad was removed and Conveyed from and out of the
Parish of Saint Margaret Westminster in the said County to the said Parish of
Saint Luke Chelsea as the Place of the last legal Settlement of the said Emery Codd< no role >
and Elizabeth his wife whereby the Petitioner conceived themselves aggrieved

NOW, upon hearing the said Appeal, and what hath been alledged by the respective
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parishes, their Counsel and Witness in
and concerning the Premises, IT IS ORDERED, that the said Appeal be, and the same is
hereby allowed, and the said Order of the said two Justices is hereby vacated and set aside;
and IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Luke Chelsea do forthwith convey and
deliver back the said Elizabeth Codd< no role >
(together with a Copy of this Order) unto the Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Margaret Westminster Who are hereby required to
receive and provide for the said Elizabeth Codd< no role >
until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law. And IT IS
FURTHER ORDERED, that the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Margaret Westminster do forthwith pay or cause to
be paid unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint
Luke Chelsea the Sum of Seventeen Shillings and Six Pence
for their Charges and Expences in relieving and maintaining the said Elizabeth Codd< no role >
since her said Removal
