To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the peace
for the County of Middlesex in General Session of the
peace at the Sessions house on Clerkenwell Green in the sd.
County of Middlesex assembled

The humble Petition and appeal of the Church=
=wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster in
the said County.

Sheweth.


That by virtue of an Order under the hands and
Seals of Cranley Thomas Kerby< no role > and Henry JamesWesterPye< no role > Esqrs.
two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace acting in &
for the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the
Quorum) bearing date the 16th. day of February 1793.
William Bates< no role > and Mary< no role > his Wife with their four
Children vizt. Thomas< no role > aged about 12 Years Elizabeth< no role >
aged about 11 Years John< no role > aged 6 years and Joseph< no role > aged
4 Years were removed and conveyed from the Parish of
Saint John the Evangelist Westmr. in the said County of
Middlesex to the sd. Parish of Saint James as the Place of
their last legal Settlement whereby your Petitioners
conceive themselves aggrieved.

Your Petitioners therefore humbly appeal to this
Court agst. the said hdpidication of the said two
Justices and their sd. Order & pray that your
Worships will be pleased to appoint a day to hear
& determine the sd. Appeal

And your Petitioners will ever pray Etc
