MIDDLESEX


AT the GeneralSession of the Peace of our
Lord the King, holden in and for the County of Middlesex , at
the Session House for the said County, (by adjournment)
on Thursday the Twenty fourth Day of May in
the Thirty secondYear of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord GEORGE the Third, King of Great Britain, Etc. Before
William Mainwaring< no role > ), William Bleamire< no role > , Nathaniel Conant< no role >
Charles Sheppard< no role >
Esquires , and other their Fellows, Justices of our said Lord the
King, assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid; and
also to hear and determine divers Felonies, Trespasses, and other
Misdemeanours committed in the same County.

Whereas James Aldous< no role > of Berwick Street Saint James's in the County of Middlesex
Hath at this present Session Exhibited his Petition and Appeal setting forth That he was on or
about the 25th. day of April last Convicted in the Penalty of Five Pounds by William Hyde< no role > Esquire one
of the Justices of the Peace for the said County upon an Information Exhibited and Prosecuted by
Charles Harris< no role > charging that the Petitioner using the Trade of a Pawnbroker did in Berwick Street
aforesaid in the said County on the Sixteenth day of February 1792 take and receive of Sarah Bassell
on redeeming the Pledge thereinafter mentioned Twopence halfpenny by way of Profit upon Ten Shillings
and six pence on the Fourteenth day of February 1792 lent upon a Pledge of a Ring to the said Sarah
Bassell
< no role > contrary to the Statute A whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggresived Now upon
hearing the said Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respective Parties their Counsel
and Witness in and concering the Premises It is Ordered that the said Conviction be and the
same is hereby Quashed and It is futher Orderd that the said Charles Harris< no role > do forthwith
pay or cause to be paid unto the said James Aldous the Sum of Five Pounds for and towards the
Charges and Expences by thim incurred in prosecuting the said Appeal.
