Esquire Chairman and to the rest of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for the County of Middlesex
in their general Quarter Session assembled

The humble Petition and Appeal
of Aubrey Duke of Saint Albans

Sheweth


That by a rate made for the relief of the Poor of
the Parish of Hanworth in the County of Middlesex
A Certian Messuage or Dwelling house Garden and premises
situate in the said Parish in the Occupation of the said
Duke hath been assessed at the Sum of Seven Pounds
ten shillings for the present year by which your
Petitioner conceives himself aggrieved and humbly
conceives that such rate is excessive and that the
same ought not to be more than Two Pounds ten
shillings being one shilling in the Pound on the rent of
such House and Premises and that such rate is
unequal irregular and contrary to Law

Your Petitioner therefore prays that a
day may be appointed for the hearing and
determining his said Appeal and that the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Hanworth and all others may attend
your Worships to hear and abide the Order
and determination of your worships concerning
the said Appeal
