Middlesex


At the General quarter Session of the Peace of our
Lord the King holden in and for the County of
Middlesex at the. Session House for the said County (by adjournment) on
Thursday 13th. day of January in the Thirty first
Year of the Regin of our Sovereign Lord George the third
King of Great Britain Etc Before William Mainwaring< no role >
Nathaniel Conant< no role > , david Walker< no role > , William Gascoigne< no role >
Esquries and others their fellows Justices of our said
Lord the king assigned to keep the Peace in the County
aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers
Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanours
committed in the same County.

Whereas Henry Crook< no role > Hath at this present Session Exhibited
his Petition and appeal setting forth That on or about the fifth day of November
One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty nine he was by Indentures of
apprenticeship bound Apprentice to Thomas Evans< no role > of Newton Street in the Parish of
Saint Giles in the fields in the County of Middlesex Carpenter and Joiner to
learn his art and with him after the manner of an apprentice to serve from the
day of the date thereof for the Term of Seven years. That his said Master
did thereby Covenant Promise and agree in consideration of Forty Pounds to
him paid by the petitioners Father to leach and instruct him in the Art and
Trade of a Carpenter and Joiner which he then used in the best Way and
manner that he could and to find and provide for the Petitioner during his
said apprenticeship good and sufficient Meat drink Lodging Washing and
Mending during the said Term The Petitioners father agreeing to find and
provide him with all other Necessaries during the said Term. That he had
been in the Service of the said Thomas Evans< no role > until on or about the 8th. day of
November last past when he left the said Thomas Evans< no role > 's Habitation and
dwelling House the said Thomas Evans< no role > having gone out of the way and left
nothing for the Petitioner to do and no one to instruct him in his Business of a
Carpenter and Joiner, there being no Bed for him to sleep on and nothing for
him to eat or Drink. That the said Thomas Evans< no role > on or about the Seventh
day of November last quitted his Habitation and had not been heard of by
the Petitioner, that his dwelling House was street up, and that he could not
learn what was become of the said Thomas Evans< no role > , whereby the Petitioner
conceived himself aggrieved and praying to be discharged from his said
apprenticeship Now the said appeal coming on to be heard and the said
