the Peace in and for the said County one whereof is
of the Quorum, and both residingnext unto in the Limits of
the Parish Church within the Parish of St. George
Middlesex in the said County

Bastard Child, lately born in the Parish of St. George
Middlesex aforesaid, of the Body of
Mary Thomas< no role > Single Woman .

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Complaint
of the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St George
Middlesex as upon the Oath of the said Mary Thomas< no role >
that she the said Mary Thomas< no role > on the twenty ninth Day of
July One thousand seven hundred and Eighty eight [..] ; was delivered of a male Bastard Child, at the house of
Dodding Jonathan [..] Bruce< no role > in Troth Court Virginia Street in the said Parish of
St George . Middlesex and that the said male Bastard Child is [..] now chargeable
to the said Parish of St George Middlesex -: and and likely so to continue and further, that the said Dodding Jonathan Bruce
now of the New Road in the said Parish of St George Middlesex did beget the said male
Bastard Child on the Body of her said Mary Thomas< no role > and Whereas the said
Dodding Jonathan Bruce hath been brought, before us in Insurance of a Warrant for
that Impose Cut hath not shewed any Sufficients Cause why he the said Dodding
Jonathan Bruce should not be the reputed Father of the said Bastard Child biot
requested us to make our Adjudications in the premises
We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as well
upon the Oath of the said Mary Thomas< no role > as otherwise, do hereby
adjudge him the said Dodding Jonathan Bruce- to be the reputed Father of the said
Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do Order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of St. George
Middlesex as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that the
said Dodding Jonathan Bruce shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of St George Middlesex or to some or one of them, the sum of Five Pound Six Shillings
for and towards the [..] [..] Maintenance
of the said male Bastard Child for fifty three weeks prior to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further Order, that the said Dodding Jonathan Bruce shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of St George Middlesex for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of two
Shillings Weekly and every Week from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of St George Middlesex

And we do further Order, that the said Mary Thomas< no role > shall also pay,
or cause to be paid to the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of St. George Middlesex for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Six pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said male Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Parish of St George Middlesex in case she shall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.
