Customary with the Trade have been kept by the said John Godfrey< no role > and upon the
Petitioners remonstrating upon the hardship of this Treatment he had been
beat and abused in the most cruel manner That he had frequently struck
the Petitioner with a Glove Stick when nothing else was near to his Hand
and had abused him by saying he was a poor Son of a Bitch picked up by
the Queen from a Dunghill and in whose Credit he placed no confidence
That he had been frequently beat and abused by both John Godfrey< no role > and his
Wife at the same time and desired to go out of the stop That on the thirtieth
day of May last the said John Godfrey< no role > informed as an Apprentice Fee and for
Necessaries. That the Petitioner made answer that He was very sorry
for it as it was impossible for him to continue to bear the cruel treatment
he had received That the said John Godfrey< no role > made answer if you don't
like it go about your business upon which the Petitioner took his Hat and
went away And that the said John Godfrey< no role > had never sent for him to
return, whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggrieved and Praying
to be discharged from his said Apprenticeship Now upon hearing the
said Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respective Parties and
their Counsel in and concerning the Premises It is Ordered that
the said Appeal be and the same is hereby dismissed
