In the Matter of the Recognizance of Joseph
Duckfield

Middlesex to wit


James Brown< no role > one of the Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint Mary Islington in the said County
Maketh Oath and saith that Elizabeth Benstebell< no role >
who by her Voluntary Examination taken in Writing upon
Oath before Thomas Cogan< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County on the
twentieth day of December last declared herself to be
with Child and that the said Child or Children was or
were likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to be
Chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Mary Islington
and that one Joseph Duckfield< no role > die beget the said
Child or Children on her body was brought to be of
a female Bastard Child which is now Chargeable
to the said Parish of Saint Mary Islington only [..]
twelve days since that is to say or the tenth day
of April instant
