The Committee took into Consideration the order
of reference to them made in December Session last Vizt. to Consider
the most proper mode to discontinue the Tap House at New Prison
and of
laying the same into the Keepers House and making a Window or other
proper opening therefrom to look into the PrisonAnd the
Committee being of Opinion that it would be proper to view the Prison
the same and were of Opinion that it would be necessary That Mr. Rogers
the Surveyor should be requested to attend the next Meeting of this Comittee
with the Plans which he has of the New-Prison
, the Tap and the Keepers
House and Ground adjoining thereto in Order that they might inspect,
the same before they came to any determination on this Subject
The Commitee then proceeded to take into Consideration
the Business referred to them relative to the Tower
liberty being charges
to the County Rate.

And the Committee being informed by the Chairman
That the last Mr. Eyles was directed to make an Inquiry of the Representation
of the late Mr. Higgs relative to an Action being commenced from recovery
of the County late due from the Tower Liberty
, but Mr. Eyles dying, the
same was never completed-It is therefore Ordered That the
Clerk to this Committee do renew and prosecute that Inquiry,and
also do inquire when any and what Sums of Money hath been paid by
