To the Worshipfull his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex in
their General Session of the Peace Assembled.

The Humble Petition and Appeal of the Churchwardens
and overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Amesbury
in the County of Wilts.

Sheweth


That by Virtue of an order or Pass Warrant-
under the Hands and Seals of sir Sampson wright< no role > -
Knight and William Addington< no role > Esquire two of his-
Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County-
of Middlesex (one being of the Quorum) bearing date
the eighth day of April 1785 Phoebe Lewis< no role >
Singlewoman was removed and Conveyed from and
out of the Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the
said County of Middlesex to the said Parish of
Amesbury as the place of her last legal Settlement

Your Petitioners conceiving themselves
aggrieved by the said order or Pass Warrant
of the said two Justices do humbly appeal
against the same and pray that the hearing
and determining of the said Appeal may be
Adjourned until the next General Quarter
Session of the Peace to be held in and for the
said County of Middlesex and that the Court
will be pleased to appoint a Day in the
said next Session for the Church Wardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes and all other Persons
concerned therein to Attend this Court to
hear and abide the Judgment and
determination of the said Court touching
the said appeal
