And this Dept Hitchin-for himself saith
that [..] Mr John Haines< no role > lays as this Dept [..] issued a Saml. to a Mrs
Metcalf an Elderly Lady wth whom this Dept. lives as an
Prsent in Hanover Square for her have incurred a Penalty of
40s: for using her Cart wth her own Name upon it, which is
Ann Altho' the Number upon it is the same that was upon its in the
time of her late Husband George Metcalf< no role > Eqr. deced whose widow
and Executrix she is He this Deponent did on the Day
of Instant attend the said Mr John Haines< no role > or agent
to the said Mrs. Ann Metcalfe< no role > when He the said John Haines< no role >
prevailed upon him this Dept. by way of Compounds the Matter to pay
his Two Runners Russell who assumed the Character
of Pformers and Hallet who called himself the
Partron of the other Twenty Shillings [..] the said Mr.
Haines threating this Dept that he would convict
the Lady unless he Mr Hitchin had authority to
to the the Mother and the sd Russell threating him
to levy the penalty unless the Mother was settled in thatMotion
Manner and than he [..] this Dept. paid the Money to prevens
any Inconvenience to the Lady whose Pent he is & at whose because he lives.
