The Letter sent by the Clerk of the Committee to His Majestys Justices of the Peace acting
in and for this County giving notice of the Meeting of this Committee Vizt.

"Sessions House for Middlesex
"22nd July 1784

"Sir
"Upon consideration of the report and Plans thereto annexed
"of the Committee appointed to take into consideration the Building a New
"House of Correction for this County on a Scale adapted to the Ground pur=
"chased of the Quakers together with the Site of the present House of Correction
"and to prepare a Plan or Plans for that purpose" it having been resolved
"on the County day of the last Session to refer them back to the said Committee
"to reconsider the same and that the Observations made thereon by Mr.
"Howard as reported by Sir Robert Taylor< no role > together with other Plans
"produced should be also referred to the said Committee for their con=
"sideration I have it in direction to inform you that the said Committee
"will meet at the Session house for the said County on Thursday the 5th.
"day of August next at the hour of Eleven in the forenoon precisely to
"Proceed under the said referrence

The Report of the Committee appointed to take into consideration
the building a New House of Correction for this County on a Scale
adapted to the Ground purchased of the Quakers together with the
Scite of the present House of Correction and to prepare a Plan or Plans
for that purpose

The Observations made by Mr Howard on the Report abovemention'd
as also on the Plans thereto annexed

The Clerk having laid before the Committee a Letter which he had
just received from the Chairman of the Sessions of which the following
is a Copy

Dear Sir
"A very particular call into the Country prevents me
"waiting on the Committee tomorrow I think it is therefore necessary
"for me to communicate to the Gentleman who may happen to be
"there; the State, the Gaol Bill and the House of Correction Bill are
"now in before Paliament; as I think the Event of those Bills
"particularly the latter will greatly deserve the attention of the
"Committee. The Gaol Bill after repeated delays will I believe be
