Appeal Setsforth that by Virtue of a Pass Warrant or Order of Removal under the Hands
and Seals of William Blackmore< no role > Esquire and Herbert Mayo< no role > Doctor in Divinity two of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace Acting in and for the County of Middlesex aforesaid (One whereof being of the Quorum) bearing
date the 10th. day of June 1781. Martha Pickett< no role > Singlewoman was Removed and Conveyed from and out
of the parish of Saint George in the said County of Middlesex to the said parish of Saint Botolph Aldgate
as the place of the last legal Settlement of the said Martha Pickett< no role > Whereby Appellants conceived
themselves Aggrieved

Who on her Oaith saith that she is Single and Unmarried And Further that about Seven
Years ago she was by an Agreemant in Writing Bound as an Apprentice for Four Years to Ms. Ann
Price
< no role > of Three King Court in the Minories in the parish of Saint Botolph within Aldgate in the City of
London Gold & Silver Button Maker with whom she Continued to serve as such for near two Years
when her & Mistress Absconded and left her And Lastly that she hath never since done any Act whereby
to gain a Subsequent Settlement in any other parish a place whatsoever-

Its Apprehended that the Grands of this Appeal is that as a Condn of
Five Guinea was given with the Pauper & no Duty having ever been paid
therein the Agreement is [..] Consequently no Settlement can be
Gained Three & the Pauper now seems to vary from her Examination
saying that she did not Serve under any such Articles, but gail Observe
her Examination as above Stated, which Examination is Confirmed by
the Testimony of the Pauper Martha who is now in Court
