was called in and the above Order being Read he declared he had
not any Person in his Custody for fees only and that he did never
keep any in Irons on that Account Whereupon he was ordered
to withdraw. Mr Newport was now called in and having heard
the above Order read he produced a List of which the following is a Copy.

John Evans< no role > Discharged 5th. January Detained 2 days for his fee
Mary Duff< no role > Discharged 6th January Detained 1 day for her fee

Samuel Ward< no role > Discharged 13th. January Detained 4 days for his fees
remained in Irons
Sophia Hollis< no role > Discharged 13th. January Detained 4 day for his fees
William Maynard< no role > Dischd, 14th. January Detained 3 days for his fees
John Nash< no role > Discharged 12th. January Detained 4 days for his fees

And further added that the only Person now in Custody for his
fees remaining in Irons is Samuel Ward< no role > but that he had discharged
the said Persons upon Receipt of the above Order

This Court being informed that a Women who had been
brought to Bed in New Prison had [..] within the space of four
days after her labour been removed to Newgate to take her Trial at the
old Bailey and Mr Newport being interrogated as to the Circumstance
declared that a Woman had been delivered in the Gaol the day after her
Commitment but that it happened three Weeks before the time of her
Removal to Newgate to take her Trial and being asked whether any
Child had died in his Prison within ten days last past he declared
tha no Child had died in New Prison within Ten Days last past
to his Knowledge and being further questioned whether he knew
their Complaints he said only four were now sick in the Prison
but he did not know their Complaints Ordered that the above
examination and circumstances be referred to the consideration
of the Committee appointed to examine into the general Government
of the House of Correction at Clerkwenwell and that
