Parish of Saint Luke
in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth
That the Goods of your Petitioner were distrained upon the 18th.
day of October last for the Sum of One Pound Four Shillings for
one Years pavement Rate said to be due to the said Parish of Saint
Luke Middlesex
at Christmas 1782
That your Petitioner being advised of Councel to appeal thereto
in as much as Artillery Court wherein your Petitioners House is
Situate (for the Assessment of which the said distress has been made)
is not specified in the Act of Parliament made in the 11st. Year of
the Reign of his present Majesty intilted an Act for paving Etc
of the Parish of Saint Luke
in the County of Middlesex
(or as he
apprehends within the meaning thereof ) gave due Notice to the
Clock to the Commissioners appointed under the said Act of Such
his Intention to appeal at the present December General Session
and entered into a Recognizance as required by the said Act
That your Petitioner therefore deeming himself aggrieved doth
appeal unto you his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County
of Middlesex
and hereby requests that you will appoint a day in
this Present General Session wherein you will be pleased to hear and
determine the matter of such Appeal and make such Order in
the premises as shall seem meet to you therein
