Parish of Saint Luke
in the County of Middlesex

Sheweth
That the Goods of your Petitioner were distrained upon the
18th. day of October last for the sum of One Pound Four Shillings
for one Years Pavement Rate said to be due to the said Parish of
Saint Luke Middlesex
at Christmas 1782
That your Petitioner being a devised of Councel to appeal
these to in as much as Artillory Court wherein your Petitioners
House is situate (for the Assessment of which the said distress
has been made) is not specified in the Act of Parliament made
in the 11th. Year of the reign of his present Majesty intilted an Act
for paving Lett of the parish of Saint Luke
in the County of
Middlesex
(or as he apprehends within the meaning thereof gave
due Notice to the Clock to the Commissioners appointed under the
Said Act of such his Intention to appeal at the present December
General Session and entered into a Recognizance as required by
the said Act
That your Petitioner there fore deeming himself aggrieved doth Appeal
unto you his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
and hereby requests that you will appoint a day in this present
General Session wherein you will be pleased to hear and determind
the Matter of such Appeal and make such order in the premises
as shall seem meet to you therein
