On the Prosecution of
Joseph Reed< no role > for an Assault

Thomas West< no role > ofOxford Goswell Street in the Parish of Saint
Luke in the County of Middlesex Victualler maketh Oath and
saith that he this Deponant was and stood indicted at the
last General Session of the Peace holden at Hicks Hall in
Saint John Street in and for the said County of Middlesex to
which said Indictment this Deponant did appear, Plead
and put in Bail to Try his Traverse at this present
General Quarter Session of the Peace, And this Deponant
further saith that he did in Consequences of his being
Indicted and Entering into such Recognizance some time
on or about the begining of the Month of June last
employ Mr. Stephen Bywater< no role > an Attorney to give Notice
of Tryal to the above named Prosecutor and Enter a Venire
in Order for this Deponant to take his Tryal at this
present Session pursuant to such his said Recognizance
he had entered into for that purpose And this Deponant
further saith that he did this day appear and on searching
with the Clerk of the Peace was informed that his said
Attorney had not returned any Venire, And further saith
that he is ignorant and unacquainted with the Nature of
the proceedings of this Court otherwise he should not have
stood in Contempt thereof And this Deponant further saith that he will give
proper Notice for the next Session and Try his Traverse accordingly

Quarter Session of the Peace (holden by
Adjournment) for the County of Middlesex
on the 2d. day of July 1782}
