Prisoners made their Escape, Gussett at that time had the Key of the Gate
and at the time of opening its This informant called a Woman that had
Muscles to sell it having been previously agreed between this
Informant and the said other two persons and Gussett that they should
fresh him gently down white the Gate was open and make their
Escape which they accordingly did And this informant further saith
that just before they made their Escape they informed John Brown< no role > one
other of the Servants employed by the Keeper o said Prison of their
intention to make their Escape that Machenzie wanting some paper
to writeupona Letter upon gave to said Brown a half penny to buy a Sheet
of Paper and at the same time a half Guinea which this informant
saw Mackenzie put into his hands & that he should stay an hour before
he returned to gibe this informant and the other two Prisoners before named
Mackenzie that he, this deponent and said Bartington meant to effect
their Escape and desired he could stay out of the prison about half an hour
for if they could not escape in that time they should not attempt to escape
that night and that said Brown accordingly went out of the Prison for
such purpose and before he returned this Informant and the others made
their escape as aforesaid
