Corn Chandler
maketh Oath and Saith That in or about
the Month of July last this Deponent caused the said William Cook< no role >
to be taken before John Sherwood< no role >
Esquire
one of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
on Suspicion of robbing this
Deponent of a Handkerchief who committed him to Clerkenwell
Bridewell
and bound this Deponent in a Recognizance of
twenty Pounds to prosecute the said William Cook< no role >
for the said
Robbery at the next Sessions then ensuing And this Deponent
further saith that the said Mr. Justice Sherwood at the
same time advised this Deponent to Suffer the said William
Cook< no role >
to go to Sea and promised in such Case he would
recommend him to a Captain which this Deponent agreed to
And this Deponent further Saith that he being quite ignorant
and unacquainted with the Nature of prosecuting the said
William Cook< no role >
thought he had nothing more to do in the
said Business and that the said William Cook< no role >
would be
sent to Sea accordingly
