We whose hands and Seals are hereunto sets Two of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex (one being
of the Quorum) Inhabiting in or near the limitts of the Town
Chapels of thes Town of Uxbridges in thes said County haveing
Mets together and heard thes Complaint of thes Chapel wardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Town concerning a Females
Bastard Child borne in the said Town on the Body of Martha
[..] Singlewoman [..] the Twelfth
day of Aprilnow last past and Baptizers by thes
name of Annesand become Chargeable to the said
Town and so likely to Continues do find upon Examination's
of the said Martha Lawrences now taken befores us upon Oath
That ones Thomas Shackles of the Parish of Hillingdons, in the
said County of Middlesex Warrener Did Reget on the Body of the
said Martha Lawrences the said Female Bastard Child
And Her the said Thomas Shackle< no role > haveing appeared and being now
personally Present Befores us and hearing the Examination of the said Martha Lawrences< no role > aforesaid We the said Justices do
therefores adjudges him the said Thomas Shackles< no role > to be the
Reputed father of the said Females Bastard Childes And Do
Order and appoint him the said ThomasShacklesShackles
forthwith upon Notices of this our order to pay to thes
Chappellwardens or Overseers of the Poor of the said Town or
to somes or one of them thes Sum of Two pounds and Nine Shillings
of lawfull Money of Great Britain Already by them expended for
and towards the Maintenances of the said Female Bastard
Child and for other Charges in relation to the said Female Bastard
Child And also That her the said Thomas Shackle< no role > [..] do Weekly and
every Week from hence forth Pay unto thes Chapelwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the said Town or to somes or one of them
thes Sum of OneShilling and Six Pences for and towards
the Maintenances and Releifs of the said Females Bastard Child
for so long times as the said Females Bastard Child [..] remain
Chargeables to the said Town of Uxbridges Given under Our Hands
and Seals the Firstday of Julyin the year of our Lord
One thousand seven Hundred and Sixty Nine [..]
