Whereas Elizabeth Washborne< no role > Widdow was lately delivered (in
the Liberty above the Barrs within the parish of St. Andrew Holborne in
the said County of Middx) of a Female Bastard Child named Elizabeth
which hath been and is likely to continue chargeable to the Said Liberty
Above the Barrs Wee two of her Maties, Justices of the Peace for the Said
County of Midx (Quorum Unus) and both residing in or next the Limitts
of the parish Church of St. Andrews Holborne aforesaid (where the said
Bastard Child was borne having upon the Complaint of the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the poore of the Said parish & Liberty taken upon us the
hearing & Examinacon of the said cause doe fined by the Examinacon of
the said Elizabeth Washborne (upon her Oath) & other Circumstances &
proofes that John Williams< no role > a Servant at Johns Coffee house in Birching
-lane within the Citty of London is the reputed father of the said Female
Bastard Childe Whereupon Wee doe Order & Adjudge him the Said
John Williams< no role > to be the reputed father of the said Bastard Childe And
Wee doe further Order that he the said John Williams< no role > the Reputed father
Shall imediatly upon notice given unto him of this our order pay or
cause to be paid into the hands of the Overseers of the poore of the parish
& Liberty aforesaid or to Some or one of them the Sume of Two
pound's Fouerteen Shilling's & Six pence of Lawfull English Money
which Sume has been already by them disbursed for or towards the an
charges of the Keeping & maintaining the Said Bastard Childe from
the time of its Birch untill the time of the giving the said notice and
for other necessary expences at the lying in of the said Elizabeth Washborne
And Shall alsoe weekly and every Weeke from & after the time of
such notice (Soe long as the said Childe Shall be chargeable to the said
Liberty) pay or cause to be paid unto the Overseers of the poore of the
said parish & Liberty for the time being or to some or one of them them
Sume of two Shillings and Six pence of like lawfull English Money
for and towards the keeping and Educacon of the said Bastard Childe
And Lastly Wee doe order that the said John Williams< no role > doe
become bound with Sufficient Security in a Bond of Forty pounds
unto Thomas Halloway< no role > and Thomas Dell< no role > two of
the present Overseers of the poore of the said parish and Liberty
