Middlesex (to wit)


The Information of John Lord< no role > of the
Hamlet of Mile End New Town in the
County of Middlesex Hatter taken and
made on Oath before me James Penleaze< no role >
Esqr. one of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex the
21st. day of August 1778

This Informant on his Oath saith that about
two Years ago this Informant went to s Sale of
Linen Drapery Goods at the Sign of the Kings Arms
in George Street in the Parish of Christ Church in
the County aforesaid where one William Sample< no role >
officiated as Auctioneer ; that this Informant
bid for some Linen Cloth which was put up to AcretionSale by
the said William Sample< no role > at the said Sale, that
the said Linen Cloth was knocked down to this
Informant, that this informant was ordered to
pay fifteen Shillings and nine pence Earnest Money
and to call the next [..] Morning to have the Cloth
delivered to him, which this Informant did accordingly
that when this Informant called the next day the
said William Sample< no role > was gone from the said House
and had likewise carried away all the Goods and
Linen which had been exposed to Sale the proceeding
day. And this Informant further saith that he
hath never received the said Linen from the said
