have refused to remove the same though Application hath been made
to them for that Purpose.

That your Petitioner and the several other Persons resident in
the said Streets which are situate at a short Distance from the said
New Gate have ever since the said Gate was so erected in Grays Inn Lane
aforesaid been a obliged to pay Toll at the said Gate by which your
Petitioner and the said other Persons apprehend themselves to be greatly
aggrieved

That your Petitioner and the said other Persons resident in the said
Streets are advised that the said Trustees have abused and exceeded their Power by
erecting the said New Turnpike Gate and that the same ought to be removed

Your Petitioner therefore on behalf of himself and the
said other Persons resident in the said streets humbly prays
your worships to take the Premises into Consideration
and to order the said New Turnpike Gate to be removed and to
Grant them such Relief herein as to your worship shall
seem meet

At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in and for the said
county of Middlesex (by Adjournment) on Monday the Nineteenth Day of October
in the Eighteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the third King of Great Britain Etc

It is Ordered that John Benson< no role > Gentleman Clerk to the Trustees
mentioned in this Petition have Notice thereof And that they and all Persons
concerned do Attend this Court on Thursday next the Twenty second Day of this
Instant October at Eight of the Clock in the Morning of the same Day to
hear and abide the Judgement and Determination of this Court touching
the said Petition.
