MIDDLESEX .


At the General [..] Session of the Peace
of our Lord the King, holden in and for the County
of Middlesex , at Hicks-Hall , in Saint John-Street ,
(by adjournment) on Thursday the Fourth
Day of Junein the Eighteenth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King
of Great Britain, Etc. Before Sir John Hawkins< no role >
Knight The Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Barnet
John Barnfather< no role > Thomas Parker< no role >

Esquires , and others their Fellows, Justices of our Said
Lord the King, assigned to keep the Peace in the County
aforesaid; and also to hear and determine divers Felonies,
Trespasses, and other Misdemeanours committed in the
Same County

Whereas Joseph Rae< no role > Hath at this present Session Exhibited his Petition and
appeal Setting forth That by Indenture of Apprenticeship bearing date the Twenty fourth day of
July in the Year of our Lord 1775 the Petitioner became bound to John Hine< no role > (then) of Wathington
in the County of Oxford Clock and Watchmaker for the Term of Seven Years to Commence from
the first day of March then last past and the said John Hine< no role > in Consideration of the Sum of
Twenty Pounds to him then paid Engaged by the said Indenture to teach and Instruct
the Petitioner or Cause him to be taught & Instructed in the best manner that he could in
the Art of a Clock and Watch maker which he then use and also to find and allow the
petitioner sufficient meat Drink and Lodging during the said Term as by the said Indenture
among other things will appear That at the time of the petitioners being so bound his said
Master lived at Watington aforesaid but about a Year ago his said Master left Watlington
and Came to and lived at a lodging in Bloomsbury markett in the County of Middlesex where
the Petitioner continued with him till about a Month last past That his said Master has
at divers times in a very cruel manner beat and Male treated the petitioner and turned him
out of Doors into the Street at Night nor has he business or tools enough to learn the petitioner
the said Arts Nor has found and provided the petitioner with sufficient meat drink and Lodging
according to the said Indenture and the petitioner is now Supported by a Relation and praying to
be discharged from his apprenticeship and for other relief Now upon hearing the said appeal
and what hath been alledged by the respective Paries their Counsel and Witnesses in and
concerning the premises It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and same
is hereby dismissed.
