the said Shaftoe Vaughan< no role > could not give this Deponent such direction
or Information as above required For that he the said Shaftoe Vaughan
did not himself know where his Clients the said prosecutors lived or
resided or was to be Found or heard off But the said Shaftoe Vaughan
then told this Deponent that he this Deponent need not for the
reasons aforesaid serve the said prosecutors or either of them with
such Notice of Tryal For that he the said Shaftoe Vaughan would
accept the same as Attorney for the said prosecutors and on their behalf
and that no advantage should be taken either by him the said Shaftoe
Vaughan or the said prosecutors of such Notice not being served on the
but that such Service of the said Notice of Tryal on him the said Shaftoe
Vaughan as aforesaid should be deemed as effectual as if the same had
been personally served on the said prosecutors respectively on the said
Shaftoe Vaughan and this Deponent then used words to that or the like
effect And this Deponent further Saith that he did also demand of the
said Shaftoe Vaughan the payment of the Sum of thirty Shillings being
the Costs directed to be paid by the prosecutors or their Sollicitor to the
said Defendant on his Sollicitor at the last General Quarter Sessions of
The peace held in and for the County of Middlesex in July last when the
Tryal of this Traverse was postponed upon the Motion of the said
Prosecutors Council till the present September Sessions But the said
Shaftoe Vaughan did not then pay to this Deponent or hath he at any
time since paid or caused to be paid either to this Deponent on the said
Defendant (as this Deponent verily believes) the said thirty Shillings
Costs or any part thereof And this Deponent Thomas Tucker< no role >
for himself Saith that he this Deponent was present by and in
Company with the other Deponent William Morton< no role > when the
Conversation abovementioned was had between the said Shaftoe
Vaughan and the other Deponent William Morton< no role > in this Deponents
presence and hearing and this Deponent Saith that such Conversation
and every other Matter and thing above setforth and deposed to in the
Affidavit of the other Deponent William Morton< no role > is true in every
particular And these Deponents William Morton< no role > and
John Danson< no role > severally say that they these Deponents have
