But what will more plainly prove that Hemp cannot be beaten
at the price now Given with advantage in point of profit is
the following calculation

The House of Correction at Clerkenwell is furnished with
forty Blocks and two Persons may and sometimes do
work at the same Block Suppose then all the Blocks
constantly at work throughout the Year and six hundred
Weight of Hemp produced every Week which might be done
upon a calculation formed from the Numbers as they stand
in the return the receipt upon the Labour would amount
to7-16-0

The Expence of a Task Master the same
time alone would be31-4-0

Whence there would follow an Annual Loss of 23-8-0
