Covent Garden had conformed themselves to the Desire of the Committee

If further appeared to the Committee from the report of the Deputy Clerk of
the peace of this County who had been directed to make the proper search that very few
Duplicates of Passes and examination of Vagrants have been transmitted to him and few
if any according to direction contained in the Act of the 17th. Geo. 2d. and from the Account of the Deputy
Clerk of the peace of the City an Liberty of Westminster who had been desired to make
the like search itaboveappeared that he had received several Duplicates of Vagrant Passes and
examinations but the none had been delivered to him in his Office pursuant to the
Statute.

Whereupon on full consideration of the Premisses the Committee
an ofcame to the followingOpinion as follows (vizt.)

Resolved that it is the Opinion of the [..] that of late Years the
directions of an Act of parliament made in the seventeenth year of the late King
''entilled An Act to amend and make more effectual the laws relating to Regues and
"Vagabonds and other idle and disorderly Persons and to houses of Correction relative to the
"returns of the Duplicates of the Passes and examination of Vagrants" have not been
properly complied with

[..] it would be much for the benefit of the Publick if such
directions were more properly followed and adhered to

Read opinion of this Committee& that the Court of Quarter Session
should take proper measures to enforce a more strict Obedience to the directions of the
said Act

The Committee took into Consideration the humble Petition of the sevl. Constable
of the Parish of St. Clement danes in the County of Middlesex & Liberty of
Westmr . refered to his Committee forth that the sd. Parish of St. Clement danes being the first Parish out of
the City of London and as such liabloe to accept of Vagrants taken up in & passed from the
sd. City of London & that of late Years great Numbers of such Vagrant having been passed
upon the petitioners in Order that the petitioners might forward them to the
Contractor for the Conveying such Vagrants to their respective Settlements and the
Petitioners having been put to very great trouble & Expences occasioned thereby [..]
[..] apply [..] for relief in the premisses Etc.
