It further appeared to the Committee that by the Order of Session of the 14th. July 1757 the
Governor of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell was to keep a book in alphabetical order
of the Names and description of such vagrants as were committed to his custody but no such
book has been kept by the Governor of the said House of Correction,The Clark expected to the
This Committee also ordered the Clock to write to the Vestry Clerks of the Parishes within the
following Divisions within the Hundred of Ossulston to furnish an account of all vagrants who
had been apprehended within their respective Parishes from Lady Day 1772 to the presen [..]
Time but that none of the said Vestry Clerks excepting Mr. Lane Vestry Clerk of St. Paul
