Middlesex


At the General Session of the Peace of Our Sovereign Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County (by adjournment) on Thursday the Ninth day
of December in the fourteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc

Whereas the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Witness
in the County of Oxford Have at this present Session Exhibited their Petition and
Appeal Setting forth That by a Warrant or Order of Removal bearing date the
Twenty Ninth day of October last under the hands and Seals of John T.Hesse and
Saunders Welch< no role > Esquires two of his Majesties Justices of the Peace in and for the
County of Middlesex Susannah Dorwood< no role > Widow and Martha Dorwood< no role > Spinster where
removed and Conveyed from and out of the Parish of Paddington in the County of
Middlesex to the said Parish of Witney in the County of Oxford as the place of their
last legal Settlement Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves Aggrieved
Now upon hearing the said Appeal and what hath been Alledged by there respive
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor their Councel and Witnesses in and
Concerning the Premisses It is Ordered that the said Appeal be and the same
is hereby Allowed and the said Order of Removal of the said Two Justices is hereby
Vacated and set aside And it is further Ordered that the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Witney in the County of Oxford aforesd.
do forthwith Convey and deliver back the said Susanna Dorwood< no role > Widow and
Martha Dorwood< no role > Spinster (together with a Copy of this Order) unto the Church
Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Paddington or to some or one
of them who are hereby required to receive and Provide for the said Susanna
Dorwood
< no role > Widow and Martha Dorwood< no role > Spinster until they can free themselves
from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law
