Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden for the
County of Middlesex at Hicks-Hall in Saint John Street in the said County (by Adjournment)
on Thursday the fourteenth day of January in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc Before Sir John
Hawkins
< no role > Knight Benjamin Cowley< no role > , William Shakespeare< no role > John Walford< no role > Esquires
and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to keep the
Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine divers Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdemeanors Committed in the same County.

Whereas theOverseers of the Poor of the Liberty of the Rolls in
the County of Middlesex Have at this present Session Exhibited their Petition and Appeal setting
forth That by virtue of a Pass Warrant or Order under the Hands and Seals of Philip Dyot< no role > and
Stephen Clarke< no role > Esquires Two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County of
Middlesex (whereof one is of the Quorum) bearing date the Sixteenth day of December last
John Turk< no role > and his Wife named Sarah< no role > were removed from the Parish of Saint Giles in the
Fields to the Liberty of the Rolls aforesaid as the Place of their last legal Settlement
Whereby the Petitioners thought themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing of the said
Appeal and what hath been alledged by the respective Churhcwardens and Overseers their
Council and Witnesses in and concerning the Premisses It is Ordered that the said Appeal
be and the same is hereby allowed and the said Pass Warrant or Oder of the said Two Justices
is hereby vacated and set a side And it is hereby further Ordered that the
Overseers of the Poor of the Liberty of the Rolls do forthwith Convey and deliver boak the
said John Turk< no role > and Sarah his Wife (together with a Copy of this Order) unto the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles in the Fields aforesaid or to some or one of
them who are hereby required to receive and provide for the said John Turk< no role > and Sarah his Wife
until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law
