Middlesex


At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King holden
for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in the
said County (by Adjournment) on Thurday the Twelfth day of September in
the Eleventh Year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the Third
King of Great Britain Etc Before John Hawkins< no role > Benjamin Cowley< no role >
Thomas Niccoll< no role > Saunders Welch< no role >
Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King assigned
to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also to hear and determine
divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors committed in the
same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Liberty of Norton
Folgate in the said County Have at this present Session Exhibited their petition
and Appeal Setting forth That by a Warrant or Order Dated the fifteenth day of
August last past under the hands and Seals of Charles Digby< no role > and David Wilmot< no role >
Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
aforesaid Ann< no role > a Bastard Child (of Elizabeth Simpson< no role > Singlewoman ) Aged about
two years and a half was removed from the Parish of Christ Church in the said
County of Middlesex to the said Liberty of Norton Folgate as the place of her last
legal Settlement Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Now
upon hearing of the said Appeal and what hath been alledged on either side by
the respective Churchwardens and Overseers their Council and Witnesses in
and Concerning the Premisses It is Ordered that the said Appeal be
and the same is hereby Allowed and the said Order or pass Warrant of the said
Two Justices is hereby Vacated and set aside And it is further Ordered that
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Liberty of Norton Folgate Do
forthwith Convey and deliver back the said Bastard Child (together with a Copy
of this Order) unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of Christ Church or to same or one of them who are hereby required to receive
and provide for her untill they can free themselves from the Charge thereof
be due Course of Law
