At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King begun and-
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County On Monday the Ninth day of September in the
Eleventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of-
Great Britain Etc And from thence continued (by Adjournment) until
Thursday the Twelfth day of the same Month of September And on the-
same Thursday being holden by [..] Adjournment as aforesaid Before

John Barnfather< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our Lord-
the King Assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid and also
to hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanors
committed in the same County.

Whereas Michael Jacobs< no role > son of Samuel Jacobs< no role > late of the Parish of Saint
James Dukes Place deceased Hath at this Present Session Exhibited his Petition
Setting forth That the Petitioner on the Twenty seventh day of August in the year-
of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Seven did bind himself
Apprentice to Mordecai Levy< no role > of the Parish of Saint Mary White Chapel Glass
Engraver, for the Term of Seven Years to be by him taught and Instructed, in the
Art and Mysterry of Glass Engraving and the Petitioner did give the said
Mordecai Levy a Consideration for his so teaching and Instructing as a foresaid
(and for finding him in such other necessarys as the Indenture setsforth) the-
full and just Sum of Six Guineas, After the Petitioner had most faithfully
served the said Mordecai Levy about three Years the said Mordecai Levy
having no business sent the Petitioner to hawk Glasses about the Streets by which,
Reason the Petitioner fell sick, and notwithstanding the said Mordecai Levy
was to furnish and provide for the Petitioner all manner of necessarys, yet
the said Mordecai Levy sent the Petitioner home to his Mother who is Extreme
poor and sickly and would not maintain the Petitioner, after he had recovered
from his Illness which lasted Nine weeks (in which time a friend of the Petitioners
made a Collection for the Petitioner otherwise he must Inevitably have Starved)
The Petitioner went to the said Mordecai Levy to be Employed as usual but he-
told the Petitioner to go about his business for he had left off Trade and had Sold his
Tools, after the Petitioner had loitered about the Streets near Fourteen days the-
Petitioner summoned the said Mordecai Levy to Appear before the Jewish Vestry
and it was Adjudged that the said Mordecai Levy should pay the Petitioner
half towards the Expence of the Petitioners Illness but the said Mordecai Levy
would not, After the Petitioner had loitered and cost Nine Months of his time and-
during which space the Petitioner often solicited the said Mordecai Levy either
to teach the Petitioner his Business or to Assign over his Indenture but all without
Effect, the Petitioner then summoned the said Mordecai Levy before the Worshipfull
Justice Camper to shew Cause why he did not Employ the Petitioner And it was-
Referred to this Court, for the Petitioner to get his discharge. The next day the said
Mordecai Levy Obtained a Warrant and took up the Petitioner as an Idle
disorderly Apprentice and the Petitioner went before the aforesaid Worshipfull
Justice Camper when the said Mordecai Levy had a severe reprimand from
the Justice and the Petitioner gave bail to the Warrant And thereby praying to
be discharged from his said Apprenticeship to the said Mordecai Levy and for
