If it were necessary to clear up these matters
the Fees of Licencing do not make a penny dif-
ference intoJefferson's favr. but far otherwise for

contendg. for the Right either Reced several of
the Fees or hindred Mr. Butler from the Receipt

Coals Candle & Laundress (wich he before found for his

accession he Receives £200, for the Salary Office Rent Fire
and Candle and Stationary together with Deputies Fees so thatwhenall things conndd.

it not been expedt. to have the Office supplied with a
deputy who had been conversant in the duties and with
