Parish of Saint George Middlesex
in the County of Middlesex
and to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint Mary Magdalen
Bermondsey in the County of Surry

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made by you the
Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint George
unto us whose Hands and Seals are
hereunto set, two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
for the said County of Middlesex (and one
of us of the Quorum) that Sylvia Goodfellow< no role > of the
Age of Eight Years or thereabouts and Ann
Goodfellow
< no role > of the Age of Four Years or
thereabouts have
lately intruded into your said Parish of Saint George
there to inhabit as Parishioner s contrary to the Laws relating
to the Settlement of the Poor, andand there likely to are there become
Actually chargeable,if not timely presented:AND WHEREAS, upon
due Examination and Enquiry made into the Premises, upon
the Oath of Sarah Perry< no role > the Aunt of the said
Sylvia andJohn Ann Goodfellow< no role > (their Father
it appears unto Us, and we accordingly adjudge, that the said
Richard Goodfellow< no role > having Deserted them and
being not to be found) and also upon the Oath
John Grainger< no role > it Appears unto [..] us and We accordingly
Adjudge that the said Sylvia and Ann Goodfellow< no role > are now Acutally
[..] becomechargeable unto the said Parish of Saint George
and that the last legal Place of
Settlement of the said Sylvia and Ann Goodfellow< no role >
is in the said Parish of
Saint Mary Magdalen Bermondsey in the County of Surry

THESE are therefore in his Majesty's Name, to order and require
you the said Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of Saint George aforesaid, that you
or some of you, doth forthwith remove and convey the said
Sylvia and Ann Goodfellow< no role >

George to the said Parish of Saint Mary
Magdalen Bermondsey and them deliver
to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or some
or one of them, together with this our Warrant or Order, or a
true Copy hereof; whereby they are likewise required, in his
Majesty's Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Case
made, forthwith to receive the said Sylvia and Ann
Goodfellow

into their said Parish and Provide for them
as their own Parishioner s GIVEN under our Hands and Seals
the Second Day of August in the Year of
our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy.
